Z's 4th birthday party - pre-party part 1

A sneak-peak of the birthday theme I'm doing for Z's birthday this year.

Think blues, think traditional theme with a modern twist. ;-)

More on this as I get closer to the party date (which will be in August).

Imagine walking into your home's compound through similar doors everyday, and on concrete slabs or wooden decking over shallow water.
Aahhhh... such bliss.

Sorbet 1 could look quite-at-home on wallpapers to grace one's lounge (or any other room) and/or on scrapbooking papers. What say you?

Cool modern vintage-y rides I like. How nice it'll be to have these for the lil dude (or for the mum to feast her eyes on! ;-)).

How prett-ily cute is that wall map?? Would be such a great colourful addition to Z's room.

a blue affair

Made this last year for a joint buka puasa-cum-birthday dinner for a friend's (Ms M) husband and son. Yup, father and son share the same birthday - pretty cool, ey?

Anyway... Ms M then attached these cards to little chocolate-filled glass jars made famous by IKEA.

A glimpse of (part of) my weakness. Handbags!! These here are the ones that I'd say bring out the 'fun side' of me (if there is one to begin with! haha). They're by far, the most colourful and most bold in design.

Orla Kiely and Cath Kidston make such beautiful things... I really can't help myself. Really. ;-)

Love the colour, the shape, the gentle curves, the little bits you can pull out as extra seating, table or storage and then keep them back in under the table - how brilliant is that?

Form and function at its finest this one is.

SCRAPBOOKING-RUBBER DUCKIES

A baby shower for my sister-in-law, at my parents' in February '07.

Theme was scrapbooking and rubber duckies, with blues, yellows, whites and browns as main colours

seen in decorations and favours.

Games: treasure hunt, baby-items list, measure mommy's tummy and the main activity was to make a scrapbook page each for the mom-to-be.

Favours: individual chocolate pots, mini fan, a rubber duckie and some mints.

... individual 'sinful' chocolate pots (made by my sister - she's clearly the better one in the kitchen ;-)) ...

SEEING DOTS!

I get such a thrill and burst of energy thinking up and planning a themed party.

The photos here were from my son's 3rd birthday party (Aug '06).

The theme was POLKA-DOTS in blues, greens, whites and browns.

... which came with 'instructions & a selection of circles cut from origami papers ...

... the birthday cake (made by my sister) ...

... and everyone went home with a polka-dotted cupcake each ...
