primary nursery

yet another personalized framed art ...

this time for a boy who recently turned one.

"primary nursery" to somewhat represent the primary, early years he'll have in his nursery/bedroom ... went for primary colours (blue, red and yellow), but of the more 'rustic' tones of each. why? just because ... :-)

his bedtime reminders ...

... from the Mummy.

Got these framed yesterday. They now stand neatly in a row on his bed. I plan to hang them up on the wall though, but was petrified to make holes in the wall. Hehe ... Settled for the next best thing then - lined them up on this picture shelf thingy. For now, that'll be home for these frames. The story part of the actual "bedtime routine' story rests behind each of the four frames shown below.

:: before sleep, toothbrush, storytime, goodnight & i love you ::

mini monograms

Two 4 year olds. A boy and a girl. Classmates of the Z. Both share the same birthdate, parents decided on a joint birthday party for them. Z and I couldn't make it to the party though (nausea got in the way).

Made these for the birthday boy and girl anyhow.

:: PEACOCK DISCS ::

This was, if you like, the 'baby' of my portfolio. After a long pause of sorts, I resumed painting on a 'grander scale'. What started off as a casual chat with a dear friend on decorating our kids' rooms, led me to paint a lil something for her lil boy's room. The result was this. A 3-part series of blues and greens against a fresh white canvas.

I named this :: PEACOCK DISCS :: as the colours reminded me of beautiful peacocks and the shapes weren't all perfect circles, but curved no doubt. The first word that came to mind was 'discs'. Hence the name then. :-)
